Making a Dynamic Difference...

Businesses that Give Back!

When Chuck Sturgis began bringing his son, Bobby to Children's Therapy Center, he may not have realized that someday he would find himself in the position to give back. Now, as the President of Allegiance Advertising and Apparel, Chuck not only provides high-quality, logo apparel for all five of our programs but donates 10% of each order back to the center!

The Windermere team donated time, materials, and elbow grease to clean up the landscape of Children's Therapy Center.

Wayne Snoey, the managing broker at the Kent Windermere office explains their
community service day:

Our work is not about houses. It's about people.
We're in the business of selling houses. But more importantly, we're helping people find a place they can call home. Our commitment to service extends beyond each real estate transaction. Every year since 1984, Windermere associates have skipped work for a day to complete neighborhood improvement projects.  Not only is Community Service Day a great opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work, it also gives us a chance to work together. We clean, landscape and repair parks, playgrounds, schools, shelters and community buildings. Each office selects a project that best serves its community needs.

Past projects have included cleaning, landscaping, painting and light carpentry to benefit senior citizens centers, facilities for physically and mentally challenged children and adults, public schools, low income housing and emergency shelters, among others.

KENTLAKE FCCLA STUDENTS SUPPORT THEIR COMMUNITY

"Our club is called, FCCLA (Future Career and Community Leaders of America) and is part of our Family and Consumer Science Dept. This is our 4th year. We meet once a week after school for our club meetings and then run the latte stand every morning from 6:45 to 7:30. We also have the stand for special events such as the KL car show, parent teacher conferences and electives night. The students decided when we started that our focus was on helping children. Every year we meet and take suggestions about worthy children’s causes and then we vote. We started out helping 3 causes a year and now we limit it to 2. All of the profits that we make go to children. In the past we have donated to PICC, Katrina, Valley Cities Holiday fund for homeless families to buy gifts for their children. It’s amazing all of the hard work and dedication that the students demonstrate." - Barbara Bell, Club Advisor
